2008 Bands and Entertainments in Association with

Bands and Entertainments are included in the price of the wristband on that particular day.

Saturday

METRO MANILA AIDE are one of the most innovative bands around. Social and political commentary and poetry. Humour and hard hitting heavy metal.

Zuprowski Connection are the north-west`s very own alternative/grunge 5 piece, who sound like a cross between Deftones and Metallica. "Thru Me" has the Chino Moreno (Deftones) style vocals but its a song loaded with riffs you can bang your head to. " I Can Use You" and "Reason C" stick to the winning formula, but "Resist" is a much more melodic that has an almost Foo Fighters feel to it. Zuprowski Connection are definitely a band worth looking out for if your in the mood for something heavy yet very different."

The Amygdala Code are a 4 piece 'metal' band from liverpool coming together to form a sound that wasnt falling into the standard category of verse/chorus/verse music, mixing a fine blend of crushing riffs, melodic chords and unusual hooks(think cannibal corpse meets deftones meets tool) with vocals reminiscent of mike pattons more heavy offerings. they push themselves to create a sound that is both challenging and aggressive.

Whisper in the riot -With a strong sense of melody, emotive screams, soaring, anthemic melodies dropping to moments of fragility all echoed by a dynamic, yet, tinitus inducing band, Whisper in the riot strive to capture their own sound, using contrast in context, staying away from the formulated metal that is currently dominating the scene.

Tackling issues ranging from personal to political, perverted to angelic, mainly topics that have to be either addressed, understood, channelled, slated or expressed. The whisper is getting louder everyday.

Multi Purpose Chemical - "The pogo rhythm of "Cult" instantly introduces the listener to a band that is clearly talented at crafting a metal sound that is both intense and catchy..........Multi Purpose Chemical have crafted a multi layered metal sound on the "Cult EP." The political nature of the lyrics add substance to the intensity, the rare groove adds substance to the talent on show, and by the time the four tracks have run their course, the Liverpool based quartet have made the best UK metal EP of recent time in my eyes." (Lee Benecke - Powerplay Magazine)

Hollow Point, are a great metal band from Liverpool, they have more meaty riffs than you can shake a stick at! The song 'Ludicrous Speed' is definately a metal anthem in the making. They also threw in a cover of 'The Great Southern Trendkill' which really got all the Pantera fans moving

The Institution hail from a city that has produced metal acts like Anathema and the legendary Carcass. Since 2005 , the sound The Institution has created sets them apart from other bands on the Liverpool Scene at the moment. The focus being on complicated riffs, harmony guitar and crushing vocals and drums. With Influences ranging from Decapitated to Killswitch Engage it is clear they are not going to lack anything in terms of volume and brutality.

Eighth Day Army - “loud, proud and sometimes brutal” – manchestermusic.co.uk
"Mind-blowing near-death experimental metal with a smile on it's face" - Slacker Sounds
“delightfully original, fast paced songs, you always go away with something to think about” – Generation Live Magazine

Signified - the band has had mainstream and web radio airplay in places such as: the UK, Australia, Norway, South USA and Japan so far, boasting great reviews. -----'They have a pop esque sound under a gritty rock and metal base-they have a talent that could see them snowballing'(Metal UK.com) ----- 'Dark and eteheral-thunderously loud!'(Gigwise.com) ----- 'A great band!'(Lockjaw Records) ----- 'A crunchingly good effort'(Get Ready To Rock.com) ----- 'Sounds great!-of great things to come'(Neil Cooper,Therapy?) ----- 'Interesting to prick the ears of rock fans'(Rock3Radio.com) -----

Aces and Eights - Finger blistering double bass! Apocalyptic fire n brimstone a-preacher-hollerin! Screaming geetar like black-lightning! Drums like when heaven broke! Stripped down hell-for-leather skullduggery, Aces & Eights will kick open your chest and piss screaming rock n roll straight on to your heart. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Aces & Eights, the most obnoxious, prima donna, stuck up, downright rude and egotistical band I've had the misfortune to play with in a long, long, time."
